There are also ~35 randomly numbered markers placed

where field stones once lay to mark the graves of slaves and their children.

Many thanks to a Mr. Mays and Lunsford Dale Higginbotham.

These gentlemen stopped while I was surveying this cemetery and were very helpful in relaying the history of this property.

They both are owners of some of the original Higginbotham land in this area and have been caring

for this cemetery for >50 years, as their fathers had done before them.
