Glenn Richard Higginbotham (1954-2016) OR/AK

Glenn Richard Higginbotham, 62, of Anchorage, Alaska, died on May 9, 2016, at his residence, of natural causes. He was born on Jan. 10, 1954, in North Bend, Ore. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1982, to work highway construction and paved the way for many Alaskans across the state. He spent the last 13 years employed by Granite Paving. He appreciated the friendships that grew over the years and the memories he made during this time. His first love was his art. He was a rare artist and prolific sculptor. A private visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 11 a.m., at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel in downtown Anchorage. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Gladys Morrise; and father, Richard Higginbotham. He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Madelyn Bascksr of Anchorage; daughter, Ember Bloom of Beaverton, Ore.; son, Connor Dax Higginbotham of Chicago, Ill.; and Cherie Higginbotham Rains of Anchorage. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man by all who knew him. Gone too soon but never forgotten. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
