Pretty Wedding
The home of Mr. and Mrs. B. S.
Higginbotham, in South Bluefield, was the scene of a pretty wedding last
evening, when their niece, Miss Lettie Higginbotham, was married to D.
Howard Payne, of
As the strains of the wedding march
filled the rooms, the happy couple descended the stairway, preceded by Miss
Ruth Higginbotham as flour girl, and entering the parlor were met by Rev J A
Baylor, who, according to the ritual of his church, united them in holy
wedlock.
The bride was handsomely attired in a
costume of cream secillian lustre, with antique lace trimming, and wore a
veil with orange blossoms.
After the ceremony the wedding party
repaired to the dining room, which was handsomely decorated with palms and
ferns, and partook of most elegant refreshments.
Only a few immediate relatives and
intimate friends of the contracting parties were present.
